Friday Fun Flick: Napping, Swinging, or Both?

9.10.2010

A few weeks ago, my husband and 'Papa' finished installing a swingset in our backyard.  (We had half inherited it and half paid for it when my husband's sisters moved to Florida.  They've since returned--long story.)  Anyways, we now have a beautiful swingset that Lil' Lewie loves more than life itself.  He's constantly begging me to strap him in, which is usually a blessing.  The only downside is that it interferes with our outside dining at the picnic table because he even prefers the swing to food.

Last week, after we both caught colds from daycare, Lil' Lewie, in typical fashion, asked to go on the swing.  It was close to his naptime, and...

well, the motion just rocked him to sleep.  It was such a tender moment that I had to catch it on film, especially because he had 'blankie' with him too.  Needless to say, he was carried off to nap in his crib without a single problem.

May everyone have a fun, relaxing, and restful weekend!
We all certainly deserve it...

  6. What a sweetheart! I hope you two are recovering from your colds...kids can fall asleep anywhere, huh? I've had Scotty fall asleep at the kitchen counter before and I often find him asleep on a pile of toys in his room. First night in his toddler bed? He slept UNDER it! Kids are so funny!

  10. Hey Annette, we are in Connecticut too and had a lot of friends who commute. My husband lived in the city at the time and had just left on a flight that morning. What a sad day! We just need to remember those who have suffered and say a prayer. We also need to remember how blessed we all are. Enjoy this beautiful day! It is so lovely today!

  13. Annette, that is just too sweet. The blankie IS adorable. I teared up! Ugh - sorry about the colds from daycare. My BFF's son started daycare 2 months ago. The pediatrician said that fall and winter would be rough, but after that he'd be golden. I guess there's a hefty price to pay for that immune system to catch up. Hope you all feel better soon!

  15. Awww! So cute! My boys will seriously only fall asleep in three places: the stroller, the car, and their beds. I have never seen them sleep anywhere else. They will point up to their room when they want to go to sleep or just climb up the stairs. But sometimes, I secretly wish I could see them do something like this. LOL Thanks for sharing. : )
