I'm an Auntie!

2.28.2011

Okay, since I married my husband in 2006, I have officially become an Auntie to my seventeen year-old niece Kaleigh, my ten year-old nephew Gabe, and my five year-old niece Sarah.  (This was exciting for me because being an only child, I didn't know if I would ever get a chance to be an Aunt.)  Now, I'm an Auntie again!

This weekend we went to the hospital to welcome a new little bundle of joy (okay not exactly little--9 lbs. 11 oz.).  Her name is Brooklyn.  Although our visit was short and sweet, we had a chance to take some pictures of the happy family.  (I can't wait until Little Lewie gets to meet Brooklyn too--it'll be interesting to see how he reacts to a newborn baby.)

Welcome to our family little Brooklyn!

Brooklyn with my hubby and her big sister, Sarah.

Brooklyn with me and her big sis, Sarah.

Five year-old Sarah already being a sweet big sister.

The happy family.
So, I guess the question of the day is, "Am I ready to have another?"  Well, after holding that precious little bundle in my arms, it sure is tempting, but we haven't decided...yet...

Are you ready for another?

  1. Congratulations to both you and the happy family! Brooklyn is beautiful and perfect!
Are we ready for another? Sure, but if it doesn't happen, it's okay too. We were so lucky to have Georgia; she is absolutely enough for us right now!

  2. Congratulations, Annette, on becoming Auntie to a precious newborn baby girl. Sara is certainly a beautiful little girl, too! I just had a discussion yesterday with a coworker about being ready for "another." My coworker has two girls, ages 4 years and less than one year-old. She is 31 and doesn't really want any more kids, but her husband wants 4 total. I have my two, but always wanted a third...all the way up until I turned 40. Now, a couple of years past 40 *clears throat* I have finally come to terms with the fact that the two I have will be the only two...unless we decide to adopt and "older" child down the road, and even that seems farther and farther away. I'm now looking forward to having the means to travel a bit and enjoy some couple time with the Hubs once the kids are grown and gone. Good luck with your deciding what's best for you.

  3. Congratulations! What a beautiful addition to the family! And Sarah looks like a great big sister, and seems so happy.

Ready or not, we've got a new one on the way! hehe, no we are very excited about it but we know that this will be it for us. 2 kids will be perfect and what my husband and I have always talked about.

  4. Congratulations Auntie! Isn't it the best? My niece is 5 months old already and it seems like just yesterday we were at the hospital waiting for her to arrive!

As far as having another...we definitely want one more. It's just the timing aspect we're having difficulties with! Finances aren't what we'd like right now, so we're holding off for a while longer. Hopefully within the next year or two! Scotty loves babies, so hopefully that will extend to a sibling when it happens!
